About the Artist

Ashley Habernal (maiden name Djarmocky - you may see this reflected in the signature of older works) is a self-taught wildlife artist residing in Ontario, Canada. She works in several mediums such as coloured pencil, ink, watercolour, acrylic, pastels, and digital painting, but her favourite and signature method of creation is stippling with fine liner pens. Ashley loves to use her work to the viewer with the wildlife with whom we share our planet, to promote conservation causes, and to urge humans to reconnect to the natural world. She is always learning and loves to experiment with new mediums and methods.

Ashley further explores her passion for wildlife and conservation by volunteering as a researcher at the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library, as a summer clinic volunteer at Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre, and is a proud Associate Member of Artists for Conservation.
